I need to develop a better immune system. Seriously.
My roommate said that she might be getting sick, since she had been sneezing a lot. I'm the one who actually got the cold. And one of my professors was sick but fine two days later! This is a sad day for my life.
Goals:
Get more sleep
Exercise
Keep drinking lots of water
Try to eat healthier (I'm not actually sure how to fix this one other than supplementing what I'm already eating at school.... Which could be do-able. I do need to figure out what meal plan I'll be on next semester....)
Get more sleep (I know I already said it, but I think it's actually one of the biggest problems. Or at least my lack of regular sleeping hours.)

Take a chance and make it big.
Okay, I'm taking a break from this French paper and detailing how I see my next semester going. I literally can't stop thinking about it. :)
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I'll get up at eight and head downtown to my 8:45 music theory class. I'll then stay downtown for my 10:00 music history class. Next semester it'll be about the Classical and Romantic periods. I'm pretty much excited.
Tuesday and Thursday I'll get up at seven and go to work (I'm hoping), then straight to my Curricula and Theory for Adolescents class from 10-11:50. Then I'll go to my science methods course from 12-1:50. After that, on either Tuesday or Thursday I'll TA Piano Class for an hour. On the other one I'll be volunteering to read to children for a couple hours.
Sundays I'll have Russian Tea from 4-5. Since everyone is either graduating or studying abroad next semester, I've decided that I'm going to be in charge of the cooking for Russian Tea. I don't really know anything about how to cook Russian food but I can read recipes so I'm not too worried. Plus I just like cooking. And then I'll have band from 6:30 to 8. Though we're hoping to change the time to some evening during the week. That would be pretty sweet too.
I'll also need to figure out when I will be having my piano and organ lessons. Also, I might be giving piano lessons next semester. There is for sure one student who I've been asked to teach as well as possibly two more. And then I may also be adding some more work shifts. I'm planning to still work in food service at least twice a week, but I am also hoping to get some hours in the music department. The hours there are a bit more sporadic, however.
I hope I haven't forgotten anything. I was thinking of adding piano ensemble too, but I think that would be overkill. Especially since I'll have to do homework and eat and sleep and stuff. Haha.
Over the summer I'm hoping to get a job. I know daddo was all for the temp agency and that's likely to be what I'll end up doing. I also wanted to take piano lessons over the summer. Oh, and somehow afford a car. I suppose that's where the job comes in. I also need to take the Praxis I at some point. I feel so busy. I'm not sure how well I'll be able to juggle everything but I think that only taking classes that I'm excited about will help. Then again, I was really excited for my French Lit class and that hasn't turned out so well. On the plus side, the semester is almost over and I'm taking an indefinite leave of absence from the French department.
For next spring I'm going to see if the school will let me take 5.5 units. That's a little crazy but I want to take my last theory, 20th century music history, my remaining two methods courses for EDYS (math and social studies), and my final science for my EDYS major. I'm hoping to take Physics of Music. And then I'll be taking lessons and an ensemble for my .5 credits. It would potentially be overkill, especially with trying to work and still giving lessons and volunteering, I'm assuming, but then I would have all my requirements for my EDYS major out of the way with two more full credits to go for my music major. And I could probably get both of those out of the way in the fall. It'd be pretty much awesome.
So that's where my head has been for this past week. I don't know when exactly we'll learn about our schedule for next semester but I'm really excited to get going on it. Only one month left of school. I'm definitely ready for the semester to be over, if only to be done with my French class. Speaking of, I should go finish writing a paper for that class. Sadday.
Happy Easter! :)

Walking on sunshine.
I am ridiculously excited about my upcoming semester. I don't really have time to talk about it right now, especially since I'm not entirely sure of my schedule, but I'm pretty much REALLY REALLY EXCITED right now. So I thought that talking about how excited I am for a little bit would help me finally settle down to get some homework done. I mean, seriously. I'm SO excited. It's going to be epically awesome. I will be so busy I'll have to decide between food and sleep, but it will be so great. Ahh!!!!
Okay, I need to go write a paper for French now. I'll post my schedule when I hear back about my classes.
:)
Love,
Kate
